One Heart

I was gardening at Patricia's house today. Ben had lived in the little cottage in her garden for several months, and I was sad thinking about him. Then I saw a white "heart" on the ground by a peony bush. One heart, all alone. I was so excited and confused, thinking it was a sign from Ben. Then I saw another heart, then another. The white rose climbing up the cottage was shedding its multi-flora blossoms. The garden was full of hearts! It made me feel happier to see that I was surrounded by love.❤️

Addendum (July 16)

Yesterday, I cut some of my pink climbing roses that grow along Kellie & John's stairway and placed them in an arrangement under Ben's tree. Today, I looked at the bouquet and saw a scattering of pink "hearts" on the ground which had shed from the roses. I found that so sweet. ❤️

Addendum again! (July 18)

Today I was gardening at Patricia's house ambitiously trying to plant all the white woodland flowers for the "Zen Garden" I am creating in honor of our mother. In my two hours of labor, I only managed to get two plants into the ground due to so much amending and sifting through the soil to dig out roots and stones. As I was leaving, I looked down and saw a sprinkling of pale yellow "hearts" on the ground. This time they were the dropped leaves of the poplar tree near the deer statue. Did these "hearts" make me happy? Not exactly, but it did make me feel that this garden was full of love: my love for Patricia; my love for Ben; my love for Victoria; and my love for the many plants I am installing to make a beautiful new garden for all of us to enjoy. ❤️
